Davidson’s “Warm Bodies” ZOMBIE WALK

ABOUT THE EVENT

Our Town Cinemas is proud to host the first ever “Zombie Walk through Davidson”. While we hope it is a fun event for everyone we would like to make the most of it as a benefit for the Ada Jenkins Loaves and Fishes Food Bank. Because well… humans need to eat too!!

The zombie horde will begin to meet at Our Town Cinemas starting at 11am on Saturday February 2nd. The walk will kick off at noon. Here is a map of the designated route:

The walk will finish in the parking lot of Davidson Beverage Company, which would be a great spot for the “after party”. You also have the options of visiting Fuel Pizza, and the new Carrburitos in the same area. It might be a good idea to car pool and have some cars staged at the finish for ease of returning to the cinema if you so desire.

GENERAL RULES FOR THE EVENT

The event is FREE and open to the public. We do strongly encourage that you bring at least two non-perishable food items that day to donate to charity. We believe so strongly in this endeavor that we will return your generosity of food donations with a FREE pass to see a movie at Our Town Cinemas!!

There is no age limit but please remember that small children may get tired during the walk and may be frightened by large numbers of scary characters. Children MUST have a parent or guardian over age 18 with them.

The Davidson Zombie Walk, Our Town Cinemas, Town of Davidson and any organizers or venues assume NO responsibility or liability for any mishaps that occur during the walk.

To participate, you MUST be in costume/makeup as a zombie and only as a zombie. Makeup and costumes are the responsibility of the participants. You are encouraged to remain in character as a zombie during the walk. Please don’t touch anyone that isn’t part of the walk and even those that are part of the group. Do not bring weapons of any kind (fake or real).

If you’re going to use blood, don’t use anything that will stain the sidewalk. In fact, try not to get anything on the sidewalk. This is NOT a parade so please stay on the sidewalk and keep off the streets and out of traffic. The town and police are aware of the walk and may have an increased presence but are just there to protect the safety of everyone.

This will hopefully be a fun and exciting event for participants and spectators alike. If we want to build on this for the future, we must focus on being safe and being the law-abiding undead.
